JMI-25: The European quartet which made their label debut on Maya (JMI-8) are back with their second release for us, this time titularly led by sole composer and bassist Omer Govreen. As opposed to Maya which was recorded in Amsterdam, this album was recorded in New York City and will be a stand-out curio in your jazz record collection. Drums by Wouter Kuhne, vibraphone by Aleksander Sever and piano by Floris Kappeyene. As a working rather than ad hoc group, the sound of this band harks back to some of the tightest, internally intuitive bands of musical brothers.
